Enjoy award winning breakfasts!

Stay and enjoy award winning food at Cambridge House, you won’t be disappointed! Winners of Deliciously Yorkshire ‘Best Yorkshire Breakfast’ 2016, 2017 and finalist in 2019 and finalists in ‘The Best Use of Yorkshire Produce’ 2018.

We take all aspects of food and drink very seriously to make sure it tastes amazing and supports local producers and suppliers. 

We cater for vegetarian and vegan options as well as gluten free coeliac diets and dairy free diets whether it’s a breakfast, afternoon cake or packed lunch. All we ask is that you let us know when you book.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day which is why we’ve worked hard to ensure your breakfast is the best, not only multi-award winning, but it supports the local economy as much as possible such as locally produced free range eggs; milk from local farms delivered by Dales Dairies; sausages, bacon and black pudding from Beavers Butchers in Masham and fresh produce from local fruit and vegetable suppliers. You also get to taste Sheila’s homemade bread and her homemade award winning marmalades including two gold medals at the World Marmalade Festival 2020 and 2021.

There’s an extensive menu from which to choose from, including our Cambridge House full English as well as other cooked options including vegetarian and vegan options. You can also select from our lighter breakfast menu if a cooked breakfast doesn’t appeal. 

Gluten free and dairy free alternatives are available, even homemade gluten free bread.

Packed lunches and Picnics

Make the most of your day in the Dales. We can provide freshly made sandiches, fruit, crisps, cake or cereal bars, fruit drinks and flask re-fills of tea or coffee. These can be ordered on arrival.

Packed lunch

Select from our sandwich or bread roll menu then add extras, such as crisps, fruit, flapjack or cake to complete your packed lunch which is provided in a brown paper carrier bag.  Although we don’t sell bottled water, we do re-fill water bottles and hot drink flasks. 

Packed lunches can be ordered up to 7.00 pm the night before the morning they are required.

Picnic

If you would like a little bit more than sandwiches, we can provide a picnic to include a pork pie or cheese, chutneys and a soft drink such as sparkling elderflower. A picnic can be ordered 48 hours before you require it so we can make sure that every item is fresh.

The picnic includes local bread, pork pie, home cooked ham, chicken drumsticks, cheese, salad, coleslaw, chutney, salad dressing, fruit, crisps, homemade cake. 

Add a bottle of Elderflower Presse, lemonade, prosecco, wine or local beer for an additional cost.

Dining out

We have a wide selection of very good places in the area from which to choose from whether you’re looking for an award winning restaurant, a gastro pub or a more traditional pub; some are within walking distance, others are a drive away. 

Here you’ll find a list of the most popular restaurants and pubs. We strongly recommend that you book your evening meal before you arrive to avoid disappointment as popular restaurants and pubs can become booked up very quickly.
